Fashion Satire From The Gyre

Film Noir, modeled by Rachael and designed by EMW, was reminiscent of a Barbie Doll evening gown, but created with eight, full length, action VHS tapes. Ocean gyre: a system of rotating ocean currents or vortexes. There are several gyres now filled with floating garbage patches full of plastics, sludge and other debris that will not break down and threatens the existence of ocean life. Haute Trash, a non-profit organization that develops educational programs, chooses to spread their environmental message through thought-provoking, runway fashion productions. Photo by Sandy Carriger
